This page answers the questions that come up most often about Goal Planner. Each answer points to the article with the full detail.
My next step is the wrong goal
The dashboard picks the unfinished goal with the nearest deadline. Goals without a deadline come last, and achieved goals are never picked. To change the choice, move the deadline of the goal you want to focus on, or mark the goal you no longer need as Achieved. See The dashboard.
The next step card says "Review your next step"
The goal has no open steps. Open it with Open plan and add a step, or tick off the steps that are done. See Steps and milestones.
My progress did not move when I ticked a milestone
Milestones are checkpoints and do not count toward progress. Progress comes from steps and, if linked, from habit consistency. See Tracking progress.
I cannot create another goal
You are on the free plan and already have 3 goals. Delete a goal you no longer need, or see the options in Plans, limits and export.
I cannot drag my goals
Reordering is only available when All Areas and All Status are both set to All. See My Goals.
The Export button does not download anything
On the free plan, Export opens an upgrade message instead of downloading. It downloads a CSV file only on a paid plan.
The Life Wheel is missing from my insights
The Life Wheel needs goals in at least three life areas. See Insights and achievements.
The Weekly Review button is missing
It only appears on the dashboard once you have at least one goal. See Weekly Review.
Send does not open anything when I invite a buddy
Send in the Share Goal dialog opens the email app on your device with a message to your buddy and your progress summary already filled in. You then send it from your own email. If nothing opens, your device has no default email app set up: use Copy Progress Summary and paste the text into any app instead. Send stays disabled until you type a full email address. I deleted an area and lost goals
That is what happens. Deleting a life area deletes all goals inside it. Recovering them is not possible from Goal Planner, so check the goals in an area before you delete it. See Life Areas.
I am not getting deadline notifications
Deadline messages are created for goals that have a deadline and are not achieved. Check that the goal has a Deadline and is not Achieved. Then look at the Notifications page with the Goals filter. See Settings and notifications.
I want to start over with a clean list
Delete the goals you no longer need from My Goals, one at a time. Deleting asks you to confirm with Delete this goal?. There is no bulk delete in Goal Planner today.
FAQ
No. Goal Planner shows progress on the dashboard, in the insights section and on each goal. There is no separate vision board or analytics page.
Only what you choose to copy. The Share Goal dialog copies a progress summary to your clipboard, and the invite feature is not working yet. Goals are not shared with other accounts.
