Templates: Start a Trip from a Ready-Made Itinerary

How to browse trip templates, filter them by travel style, preview the itinerary, and create a new trip from a template with your start date.

Templates are ready-made itineraries you can start from. Pick one, choose a start date, and Trip Planner creates a new trip with the template's plan. You can then change anything you like.

Open it from the sidebar under Plan your trip.

The Templates page: a style filter at the top and a grid of template cards. Each card shows its length, budget and tags, with Preview and Use Template buttons.

Filter by travel style

The filter at the top shows All templates, or only the templates for a travel style:

  • Budget
  • Mid-Range
  • Luxury

Click a style again, or All, to show every template.

Preview a template

Click Preview on a template card to look at it before you use it. Click Collapse to close the preview.

If there are no templates for the filter, the page says "No templates available".

Create a trip from a template

  1. Click Use Template on the card you want.
  2. In the window that opens, pick a Start Date. The template's days are placed from that date.
  3. Click Create Trip. Click Cancel to go back without creating anything.

The new trip opens on its trip page. It is an ordinary trip now: edit the dates, remove activities or add your own. Changing a template does not change the template itself.

Start from a template, then open the Itinerary tab and remove the activities you do not want. It is faster than building a day plan from nothing.

FAQ

No. A trip created from a template is a copy. Your edits only change your trip.

This page only lists and uses templates. To keep a plan you made, use the trip itself, and create the new trip from scratch or from a template when you need it.

The template's days need real dates. Choose the day the trip begins, and the days of the template follow on from it.
