Honeymoon Bridge: Plan Your Honeymoon in Trip Planner

How the Wedding Planner honeymoon page connects to Trip Planner: open it in Trip Planner, what is synced both ways, and how to turn the connection off.

If you plan a wedding with NevaPlan, your honeymoon has its own page in the Wedding Planner. The honeymoon page can open the same honeymoon as a trip in Trip Planner, where you get the full trip tools: the itinerary, map, bookings, packing and documents. The two stay in step, so you can plan in either place.

This article explains the connection. For the honeymoon page itself, see Honeymoon planning.

Open the honeymoon in Trip Planner

On the honeymoon page of the Wedding Planner, click Open in Trip Planner in the header.

The Open in Trip Planner button in the header of the honeymoon page, next to the PDF button.
  • If there is no linked trip yet, the app creates one and shows the message "Trip created in Trip Planner". Then it opens the trip.
  • If the trip already exists, the button reads Open in Trip Planner, and it opens the same trip.

The button only appears when you have activated Trip Planner, either with the free trial or with a paid plan. If you only use the Wedding Planner, the button is not shown, and the connection is not started for you.

If your Trip Planner access is on the free trial, the header shows a Free plan label. The usual limits apply to the trip.

What is created

When the trip is created from the honeymoon:

  • The trip takes its name, destination and dates from your honeymoon plan. If the honeymoon has no dates yet, the dates of your first honeymoon booking are used.
  • A starter packing list is generated for the honeymoon. Its items depend on the length and season of the trip.
  • The honeymoon's expenses, bookings, itinerary and packing items are copied to the trip.

Opening the honeymoon in Trip Planner a second time never creates a duplicate trip. It opens the trip that already exists.

What stays in step

The honeymoon and the trip are kept in step in both directions:

You changeIt updates
The dates of the honeymoonThe dates of the linked trip
The dates or budget of the linked tripThe dates and budget of the honeymoon
An expense, booking, itinerary item or packing item in either placeThe same item in the other place

Changes flow in both directions, so an expense you add on the trip's Budget tab also appears in the honeymoon's budget. On the honeymoon page, a Trip Planner budget line shows the budget of the linked trip.

If a sync fails, your change is still saved in the place you made it. The app does not show an error for the sync itself.

Turn the connection off

The connection is on by default. To turn it off:

  1. Open your account Settings, then the Integrations tab.
  2. Find Wedding → Trips (Honeymoon) and switch it off.

Switching it off stops the sync. It does not delete the trip or the items already copied to it.

The Integrations tab also has Trips → Budget, which converts trip expenses to your currency and adds them to your budget. Use the same tab to change it.

Plan the honeymoon dates on the Wedding Planner first. The trip then takes them from the start, and you avoid changing dates in two places.

Changing the dates on either side changes them on the other side too. If you want a different date in one place, check the other place first.

FAQ
