Travel insights is the second view of the dashboard. Where the Overview looks at one trip, Travel insights looks at all of your trips together: how many you have taken, how many countries and days they covered, and how your trips are spread over the years.

To open it, go to the Dashboard and click Travel insights at the top. Click Overview to go back.

The Travel insights view: the four lifetime totals, the bucket list form, the Year in Travel card and the Status mix, Continents and Flight stats cards

Lifetime totals

The row at the top shows four totals across all your trips:

  • Trips · lifetime: the number of trips.
  • Countries: the number of countries you have visited.
  • Days traveled: the total number of days.
  • Distance flown: the total distance of your flights.

These numbers come from your trip history.

Bucket list

The Add to Bucket List card keeps places you want to visit one day.

  1. Click the Destination field and type a place, for example "Tokyo, Japan".
  2. Click Add next to the field.

The place appears in the list below the form.

Insight cards

Below the totals is a grid of cards. Each card has a small label at the top:

CardWhat it shows
Year in TravelTrips, destinations and days for one year, with the place you spent the most time in ("The crown"). It has a View story button that opens your year recap. See Year in Review.
Status mixHow your trips are split between Completed and Upcoming.
ContinentsHow many of the seven continents your trips went to, with a bar for each.
Flight statsTotal flights, distance and the average distance per flight.
AchievementsBadges based on your trip history.
Carbon footprintAn estimate of the emissions of your trips.
Loyalty programsFigures about your miles and points programs.
RecordsRecords taken from your trip history.

If you have not logged a trip in the current year, the Year in Travel card says that no trips are logged yet for that year. Once you complete one, your numbers, your top destination and a year-in-review story appear there.

Some cards show little or nothing until your history has the matching information in it.

Trip history

The list of trips, sorted newest first, with their dates. Click a trip to open its trip page.

At the bottom of the view are three shortcuts: Budget & Expenses, My Trips and Destination Guide.

The insights are calculated from the trips you have entered. If a number looks wrong, check the dates and destination of the trip it comes from. See My Trips.

FAQ

The cards are built from your trip history. If a card has no trips or details to work with, it shows little or nothing. Add the trips and their details, then come back to this view.

Yes. It updates as you add or complete trips. Open View story for the year recap.
