Year in Review is a short story of your travel year, shown as a set of full-screen slides. It turns the trips of the year into numbers, a map of the places you went, and a travel style.

You open it from the Year in Travel card in Travel insights. Click View story on that card.

The opening slide

The opening slide: the year label, a headline sentence about your year, and the year switch in the top right

The recap opens as its own page, without the sidebar. The top bar has:

  1. The back button at the top left, which returns to the previous page.
  2. The year buttons at the top right, for example 2026 and 2027. Click a year to show that year's story.
  3. The slide dots on the right edge. Click a dot to jump to that slide.

The arrow buttons at the bottom move you up and down through the slides. Scroll to begin shows that you can scroll on to the next slide.

The slides

The story is made of eight full-screen slides. The first is the opening, and the last is the closing slide with the buttons described below. The slides show your trips, countries, places and days for the year, the places you visited on a map, your top destination, your travel style, and your first visits to places. Scroll or use the arrow buttons to move between them.

If the year has no trips

If you have not logged a trip in the year, the recap says "No trips logged in" followed by the year you are viewing, "yet — but the year still has time to surprise you." Add your trips to that year, then open the recap again.

The closing slide

The closing slide has three buttons:

  • Share your year starts sharing your year.
  • Plan next trip opens the trip planner so you can start a new trip.
  • Back to dashboard returns to the Trip Planner dashboard.

Add all your trips to the year before you open the recap, including the ones that are still planned. The numbers on the slides come from the trips and their dates, so correct dates give correct numbers.
