The Documents page is a shared shelf for your project files. Upload a file, find it again with search, and when someone replaces it, NevaPlan keeps the older versions so nothing is lost.
Open Documents in the Docs & Knowledge group of the sidebar.
Documents accepts JPEG, PNG and WebP images, up to 5 MB each. Other file types, such as PDF or Word files, can't be uploaded here.
What you see
- An Upload button in the page header.
- A Destination project menu. It starts empty, shown as a dash.
- A Search documents... box. When you type, a small X appears to clear it.
- Category buttons next to the search box. They only appear when your documents have a category.
- Three summary cards: Total Documents, Total Size and Categories.
- One card per document with an icon, the title, the file name, the file size, an optional category and a version number such as v1.
- On each card, a Version history button, an eye icon that opens the file in a new tab, and a trash icon.
With nothing uploaded yet, the page says "No documents yet. Upload your first document."
How to upload a document
- Choose a Destination project if the file belongs to one. Leave the dash for no project.
- Click Upload.
- Pick a JPEG, PNG or WebP file under 5 MB.
- The button says Uploading... and then the new card appears.
The title is taken from the file name without its ending, so "floor-plan.png" becomes "floor-plan". Uploading sets the document to version 1. The upload button does not set a category, so the category buttons only show up for documents that already have one.
If the upload fails, the page shows a general error message. Check the file type and size, and that you can edit the project you chose.
How to find a document
- Type part of the title or file name in Search documents....
- Click a category button to show one category. Click All to see everything.
Version history
Each card starts at v1. When you upload a new version, the number goes up and the old file is kept.
- Click Version history on the card. A window opens with the document title and a list of versions, each with its date and time.
- Click a version to open that file in a new tab.
How to add a new version
- In the Version history window, find Upload a new version.
- Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP file. The hint reads "JPEG, PNG, WebP · max 5MB".
- Click Save. The button stays off if the file is over 5 MB.
How to restore an older version
- Next to the version you want, click Restore version. The current version has no such button.
- Read the message: "Restoring creates a new version. Existing versions remain available."
- Click Restore version again to confirm, or Cancel.
Restoring does not delete anything. The old file becomes the newest version, and the list keeps growing.
You only see the upload and restore controls if you have permission to edit the document. People with view-only access can open versions but not change them.
How to delete a document
Click the trash icon on the card and confirm Delete this document?. The icon is switched off if you are not the owner of the document.
Name your files clearly before you upload them, because the file name becomes the title shown on the card.
