Git Integration and Calendar Sync

Link pull requests to tasks by hand, and learn what the Calendar Sync page can and cannot do today.

This article covers the last two pages of the Tools group: Git Integration and Calendar Sync. Both are limited today, so this guide is careful to say what each page really does.

Git Integration

Use Git Integration to keep a record of which pull request belongs to which task. You add the links yourself.

The page begins with this sentence: "Manual PR links are available. Automatic provider updates are not connected." That means NevaPlan does not talk to GitHub or GitLab for you. It does not update the status of a pull request on its own, and it does not create links when a pull request is opened.

Git Integration: pick a task, then see or add its linked pull requests

What you see

  1. The notice about manual links.
  2. Select a Task, with a search box ("Search tasks...") and a list of tasks. The list shows up to 20 matches. If nothing matches, it says "No tasks found".
  3. After you pick a task, a panel called Linked Pull Requests appears with a Link PR button.
  4. If the task has no links yet: "No pull requests linked to this task yet."

Link a pull request

The Link PR form under a selected task, with GitHub chosen and the PR fields empty
  1. Search for the task and click it.
  2. Press Link PR. A small form opens under the list.
  3. Choose the provider, GitHub or GitLab.
  4. Fill in PR # (the pull request number), Owner (e.g. org) and Repo name. These three are required. If one is empty, pressing Link does nothing.
  5. Optionally fill in PR title (optional) and PR URL (optional).
  6. Press Link. Press Cancel to close the form.

The new pull request appears in the list with its title (or "PR #" and the number), the repository as owner/repo #number, the provider and a status badge. New links start as OPEN, and the form has no status field.

Open or remove a link

  • If you entered a PR URL, an arrow button opens it in a new tab.
  • The broken-chain button removes the link from the task. It does not touch the pull request on GitHub or GitLab.

Because status is not synced, the badge stays as it was when you linked the pull request.

Calendar Sync

The Calendar Sync page is meant to show calendars that you connect from Google Calendar or Outlook.

Calendar Sync with the Note banner and the disabled Connect Calendar button

What you see

  1. Connect Calendar at the top right. The button is disabled on the page. Hover over it and the tooltip shows the note below.
  2. A banner that starts with Note: and says "Calendar sync requires OAuth authentication with your calendar provider. Currently supports Google Calendar and Outlook. Full OAuth flow will be available in a future update."
  3. The list of connected calendars. When there are none: "No calendars connected yet. Connect your first calendar to start syncing."

In plain words: the sign-in step that would let NevaPlan reach your Google or Outlook calendar is not available yet, so you cannot connect a calendar from this page today, and no events are synced to or from NevaPlan.

If a calendar entry exists in your account, the row shows the provider, an Active or Inactive mark, the calendar ID or email, and the Last sync and Expires dates when they are known. The trash button on a row asks "Disconnect calendar?" and "Disconnect this calendar?". Press Confirm to remove the entry.

To see your tasks on a calendar inside NevaPlan, use Monthly Calendar and Weekly Calendar.
