Travel Documents keeps the papers you need for a trip in one place: your passport, visas, insurance and tickets. Each document has an expiry date, so the page can warn you before one runs out.

Open it from the sidebar under Get ready, or from the Documents row on a trip's dashboard.

The Travel Documents page: the trip selector at the top, the Add Document button, the Document Alerts notice and the document cards

What you see

  1. Add Document at the top right. It is disabled until a trip is selected.
  2. The trip selector, for example Paris Weekend. The documents on the page belong to the trip you pick here.
  3. Document Alerts, a notice shown when a document has expired or is expiring within 6 months. It counts each group, for example "1 Expired".
  4. The document cards. Each card shows a status badge, the document name, the masked number (the last four digits) when you entered one, and the expiry date with the time left or the time since it expired.

Document types

Each document has one of six types. The page shows the type as an icon on the card:

  • Passport
  • Visa
  • Insurance
  • National ID
  • Ticket
  • Other

Status badges

Three document cards: Active, Expired and Active, with the expiry date on each
BadgeMeaning
ActiveThe expiry date is more than 180 days away, or the document has no expiry date.
Expiring SoonThe expiry date is within the next 180 days.
ExpiredThe expiry date has passed.

If the trip has no documents yet, the page shows No documents yet with the hint "Add passport, visa, insurance with expiry tracking."

  2. Click Add Document. The Add Document window opens.
  3. Choose the Type. It starts on Passport.
  4. Enter the Document name, for example "Passport - Emily".

  1. Hover over a document card. A trash icon appears in the top right of the card.
  2. Click the trash icon. The app asks "Are you sure you want to delete this document?"
  3. Click Delete to remove it, or Cancel to keep it.

The delete icon is only on the card. It is not inside the Edit Document window.

Documents for a trip

Each trip's dashboard has a Documents row. It shows how many documents are saved for that trip and links to this page with that trip selected.

Use the trip selector when you prepare a specific trip. The documents you add there are the ones you see on that trip's dashboard row.

Keep it safe

The document number and the expiry date are stored in your account. Do not paste a full passport scan or a copy of a card into the notes. Keep scans in a secure place you control, and check that your passport is valid for the trip with your destination's rules.

Add the passport before you book flights. Many countries require a passport that stays valid for a set number of months after your return, so check the expiry date early.

FAQ

Its expiry date is within the next 180 days. Renew the document, then click its card and enter the new expiry date in Save Changes.

The page stores the document's details: name, type, number, expiry date, notes and trip. It has no file upload for scans, so keep scans separately.

The page shows the documents for the trip selected in the trip selector at the top. Choose another trip to see its documents.
