Habit Tracker helps you do the small things every day and see your consistency grow. You add the habits you care about, tick them off as you go, and the app keeps count of your streaks and progress for you. This guide walks you through your first visit and gets your first habit on the board in a few minutes.

Open Habit Tracker

Use the product switcher at the top of the left sidebar and pick Habit Tracker. You land on the Dashboard, which is your "today" view: the habits you planned for today and how many you've already finished.

The sidebar groups everything else into a few sections:

SectionWhat you'll find there
DashboardToday's habits and quick check-ins
Daily practiceTracker, My Habits, Routines, Focus Timer, Categories
WellbeingWellness, Journal, Affirmations
Progress & rewardsAnalytics, Achievements, League, Shop
CompanionshipCompanion, Social

Settings sit behind the gear icon at the bottom of the sidebar. On a phone, the bottom bar gives you Dashboard, Tracker, My Habits, Analytics and Settings.

A quick tour of the Dashboard

The Dashboard: filters on the left, today's habits on the right

Left panel — narrow down the list. At the top, all habits shows everything. Below it you can filter by time of day (Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Anytime) and by your Categories. The links at the bottom take you to Analytics and Routines.

Header — your score for the day. Next to Today you'll see a counter such as 3/19: three of today's nineteen daily habits are done. The New Habit button takes you to the habit form.

Day strip. The row of dates shows the last few days of the current month. Click an earlier day to catch up on a check-in you forgot.

List and grid views. The two buttons on the right switch between a simple list and a grid that shows the whole week for every habit.

Remaining, All, Done. These tabs filter the list. Remaining is the default, so finished habits get out of your way. Only the first five habits are shown; click Show more to see the rest.

Further down you'll find Weekly Habits, each with a small progress bar for the week, and a collapsible Monthly Goals section showing how close each habit is to its target for the month.

Add your first habit

If you haven't added anything yet, the dashboard says "Make room for your first daily habit." Click New Habit (on the dashboard or on the My Habits page) and fill in the form:

  1. Type a Habit Name, for example Evening stretch.
  2. Pick a Category. New accounts start with ready-made categories such as Health & Fitness, Productivity and Mental Health.
  3. Leave Frequency on Daily and Tracking Type on Yes/No for now. These are the simplest settings to start with.
  4. Choose a Time of Day and an Emoji, then click Create.

The habit shows up on your dashboard straight away. Creating and editing habits explains every field in the form.

Start with two or three habits you can realistically do every day. It's much easier to add more once the first ones stick than to recover from a week of red marks.

Tick it off

Back on the Dashboard, click the circle next to your habit to mark it complete. The counter goes up, and the habit moves out of Remaining and into Done. Clicked by mistake? Click it again to undo.

A completed Yes/No habit shows a check mark; habits that track amounts show a Log link

That's your first check-in and the start of your first streak. See Daily check-ins, streaks and the monthly tracker to learn how streaks are counted.

Free plan limits

On the free plan you can keep up to 3 habits. Paused habits count toward that limit, and a counter appears next to the New Habit button. Exporting your data from Analytics is a paid feature. You'll find your plan under Settings → Subscription.
